前立委吳清池岳父母黃崑山夫婦2日不幸葬身火海，雖黃家二老這幾年因健康不佳，鮮少出門，但黃家早年在嘉義縣水上鄉南鄉村經營雜貨店，黃崑山為人和善、熱情，地方關係不錯，火災發生時，附近村民都趕來幫忙，獲悉兩老死訊，每個人都一臉哀悽。吳清池表示，岳父母皆為行動不便、且失智，岳母長年罹患糖尿病，得靠洗腎度日。長媳李幸芳則說，公公原本還能靠助行器行走，日前不慎摔傷，行動力大減，大小便也無法控制，必須包尿布，為方便照料，原本分居2房的老人家，2個多月前才同住一房。

南鄉村長謝魏雪鳳指出，黃家人住在南鄉村數十年，黃崑山夫妻育有3子3女，早年開雜貨店，之後才開始養豬，養了近30年，經濟原本還算不錯，多年前結束養豬事業後漸走下坡。謝魏雪鳳說，黃崑山生前還有農會借款百萬元，長子在工廠工作，小兒子黃登木早年跟他一起養豬，現也沒工作，長女雖嫁給吳清池，但已過世一段時間。整體來說，黃家狀況不算好，3個兒子每月輪流煮飯給老父母吃，其中又以黃登木照顧雙親最多。，
