花蓮市民運社區在今年度花蓮縣社區評鑑中榮獲甲組第1名，將得到的10萬元獎勵金撥出2萬元捐助花蓮市慈愛基金做公益。民運社區發展協會理事長林美靜表示，他們幫助過許多社區的弱勢邊緣人，因此希望能將獎金用在更有意義的地方，希望能拋磚引玉，喚起更多人重視弱勢。林美靜表示，民運社區能夠得獎，有賴社區志工伙伴的積極參與，在照顧社區弱勢邊緣人同時，透過市公所的慈愛基金讓許多人得到幫助。因此，社區理監事本著回饋與同理心，撥出部分獎金捐助慈愛基金，希望挹注涓滴力量、幫助更多弱勢民眾。
