兒童肥胖率下降,但小胖弟卻變多了。根據國民營養健康狀況變遷調查,2001到2014年,我國兒童過重及肥胖率從28.2%下降至26.0%,不過若分別看男童、女童比率,卻可發現小胖弟增加、小胖妹變少。國民健康署表示,飲食高油、高糖、少運動都是肥胖原因之一,男女差別可能和女童較注重身體形象有關。國健署近期與4所國小合作,辦理RUNNING KIDS活動,希望鼓勵孩子多運動,設定運動目標。社區健康組研究員林真夙說,根據調查,我國2001到2002年兒童過重及肥胖率為28.2%(男童31.8%、女童24.2%),2013到2014年降至26.0%(男童32.0%、女童20.0%)。

整體兒童肥胖率微幅下降,但卻出現性別差異,小胖妹減少,小胖弟卻增加了。林真夙表示,肥胖與飲食、生活習慣都有關係,少運動、愛喝含糖飲料、愛吃高熱量食物,都可能造成兒童BMI值超標。男女童差異,可能與女童較重視身體形象有關,不過確切原因仍待未來持續研究。運動除了幫助體重控制,也有益身體健康。林真夙指出,適度運動可減少罹患慢性疾病機率,對於成長中的孩童,還會刺激體內分泌生長激素,幫助長高。且運動時會分泌「腦啡」,緩解壓力、促進睡眠品質。林真夙說,世界衛生組織建議,兒童及青少年每天都應至少達到中度身體活動60分鐘以上,每周應累計420分鐘,呼籲父母多帶小朋友從事戶外運動,減少低頭滑3C的時間。營養師蔡佳玲提醒,良好的飲食習慣,也有助維持健康體態,父母應讓孩子多吃蔬果,攝取足的纖維質、維生素、礦物質,減少吃零食、含糖飲料,以鼓勵吃好食物的方式取代責罵,讓吃飯成為快樂的事,才不會造成反彈。,
