斥資8.2億元興建的新建國市場問題一籮筐，包括攤位和冷凍庫位置不足、屋頂車場動線不佳，車輛不能直接通達，無障礙設施不完善等，6日引起市議員沈佑蓮、邱素貞、范淞育、何文海等人關切，要求市府立即改善，不應一味圖利特定廠商。經發局長呂曜志說，新建國市場為5層樓建築物，其中3、4層及屋頂層皆為停車場，車道進出採自走式雙車道單進單出設計，車道可通達各樓層及屋頂層，各層樓停車場均設有無障礙車位，且無障礙通道及無障礙廁所均依規設置，滿足行動不便者需求；願傾聽各界意見全力改善，跳脫傳統零售市場缺點。
