79歲獨居潭子的黃姓阿公，月領微薄津貼，靠拾荒貼補家用！阿公身形瘦弱，加上2年前小中風後，體力大不如前，無法負荷回收工作，對家裡堆積如山的回收物無能為力；黃阿公說：「顧好身體卡要緊，不想再等價格好了！」希望有人幫他把回收物全部賣掉。華山創世潭子站，昨天結合矽品精密公司30多名志工，協助黃阿公大掃除。眾人看到囤積多年回收物一度不知所措，後來一組分類瓶罐紙類、廢棄家電；另組負責清理雜物垃圾，不畏蚊蠅叮咬及惡臭撲鼻，迅速恢復乾淨居家環境。

矽品5年前起支持社區老人照顧，剛開始僅協助送年菜，後來為鼓勵老人外出，還開放員工休閒中心舉辦銀髮K歌比賽，或由同仁擔任教練，陪伴長輩使用健身器材。前年起號召近20位同仁，擔任清掃志工，幫獨居老人整理居家環境。這次聽到黃阿公的心願，志工們馬上挽起袖子，表示「不用等到過年，大家提早為阿公大掃除！」(中國時報)，
